Anne M. Bracker

Anne M. Bracker has lived in Lawrence since 1975, from Montessori school through university, then establishing a career and buying a home in the Prairie Park neighborhood (within one mile of the Franklin Park building site) in 1994. She is an integral part of two family businesses, including Bracker's Good Earth Clays, Inc., a ceramics supply business located in North Lawrence since 1982.

She has been active in governmental and charitable organizations for more than a decade, and has been on the Board of Directors at LCS since the merge in 2005. Of her interest in helping the homeless, she states, "I remember a time, shortly after my father passed away in 1993, that I was severely depressed. I only got through it with the support of my family, a short-term anti-depressant, and lots of counseling. It isn't hard to imagine how different the outcome could have been if I didn't have caring family and friends to support and encourage me. I see what might have been, in too many faces at LCS."

She previously served as the LCS treasurer, and continues to be the webmaster for this site, and chair of the November fundraising event, "Chocolate and Tea at Three."
