Tarik Khatib
Tarik Khatib began his career with the Lawrence Police Department in 1992, after graduating from the University of Kansas. Over the past 19 years, he has served in many capacities within the department: patrol, drug enforcement, training, investigations, and administration. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and In February of this year, he was appointed Chief of Police where he overseas an agency of 176 sworn and civilian personnel. Together this group handles a combined call volume of approximately 115,000 calls for service per year. Tarik and his wife, Chrisy, have two sons, Colton and Drake.
