Renee Kuhl

Renee is a human services professional with expertise in program development, fundraising, grant writing, and quality management. She began her career in homeless services at Housing Forward in suburban Cook County, IL, where she worked as Grant Manager. Renee supported the expansion of permanent supportive housing during her tenure there while increasing grant funding from new corporations and foundations. From 2017 to 2019, she served as Associate Director of Strategic Development at Heartland Alliance (headquartered in Chicago), securing over a million dollars in new funding. New programs that she developed included a transitional housing program for survivors of human trafficking and a pilot program to provide supportive employment services to youth experiencing homelessness. Renee is a native of Johnson County, Kansas, attended Olathe East High School, and earned her master’s degree in Women and Gender Studies from DePaul University in Chicago. After over a decade in Chicago, Renee is excited to return to Northeast Kansas to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
