John Krehbiel

John Krehbiel has been actively involved in local non-profit advocacy work since retiring from the pet food manufacturing industry in 2019. He became involved in Justice Matters' "Ending Homelessness" initiative 5 years ago and has been instrumental in moving Lawrence towards the development of a 5 year plan (A Place for Everyone) to reach "Functional Zero" by the year 2028.

John has been a part of every Winter Emergency Shelter that Lawrence has had since 2019, and this winter is directing those efforts through his church, Lawrence First UMC. He has also been actively involved with the Ballard Center in Lawrence (a local non-profit early education daycare), has served on their Board of Directors and is today serving on their "Family Stabilization" committee. He is a lifelong United Methodist, is the current Lay Leader for Lawrence First UMC, and has been the Director of Jubilee Cafe at FUMC for the last 5 years.
