Night By Night

The Lawrence Community Shelter (LCS) plays a vital role in addressing homelessness by providing emergency shelter for 175 individuals. In addition to safe accommodation, LCS offers care coordination and housing stabilization services that are instrumental in helping to reduce chronic homelessness in Lawrence and Douglas County. Through these efforts, the organization contributes significantly to fostering stability and improving the well-being of our community.

Night By Night

Case Management Services

All LCS guests, whether through short stays or continuous programs, have access to case management that assists in obtaining vital documents, connecting with services, and securing income. Guests also have access to meals, bathing and laundry facilities, and storage of personal items. ​

Care Coordination Services

Care coordination services are provided to aid guests in linking to supportive services within the community that include but are not limited to, mental health, substance use, legal, physical health, permanent supportive housing, mainstream benefits, and employment. 

Requirements

Douglas County Resident or Homeless Response Team Referral.
