These resource pages are intended for current guests, former guests, or anyone in Lawrence / Douglas County at risk of homelessness.
If you fall into any of these categories, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us here at the shelter. Your email will be received by one of our staff, who will write you back promptly in order to provide support and advice.

Food, lodging, clothing for disaster. Utility assistance for customers of Westar (Project DESERVE).
Ballard Community Services
708 Elm Street
Pantry for clothing, food, basic household goods; family support staff for child-care clients. Pantry open Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
1247 Kentucky Street
Provides: food voucher, rent and utility assistance, adoption and hospice services, transportation, counseling, legal immigration support and consult, case management, marriage for keeps, holiday supports, disaster relief, and advocacy.
2518 Ridge Court
Assistance with rent and utilities, home weatherization, seasonal and holiday, school supplies, homeless and housing counseling, referrals to other services and case management, food pantry.
Food Pantry at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church
802 West 22nd Street Terrace
Free food pantry and program to help people purchase healthy food at wholesale prices (SHARE). Checks, money orders, credit cards and EBT cards accepted.
Food Pantry at First Baptist Church

Free food pantry.
Food Pantry at Southside Church of Christ

Free food pantry. Must call before arriving. Open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Food Pantry – Trinity Episcopal Church

Free food pantry.

Provides breakfast in Brady Hall of First United Methodist Church on Tuesdays and Fridays, 7:00-7:45 a.m. Volunteers take orders and serve participants.
Just Food ECKAN

Walk-in food pantry open Mondays 1:00-7:00 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.
