Health Care (Physical)

Haskell Indian Health Center

Health services available to any federally recognized tribal member, including optometry, dietary consultation, well-woman exams, pediatric exams, diabetes clinics, dental care and pharmacy. 

Health Care Access
330 Maine Street

Facilitates access to health services for Douglas County residents with limited financial means who are not covered by private or governmental insurance programs.

Heartland Community Health Center
346 Maine Street, Suite 150

Offers quality, affordable services to all community members, regardless of income or insurance status. Services include dental, primary, dabetic, and women’s health care. Appointment is required.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital

Providing acute care inpatient and outpatient services, community education programs, 24-hour emergency department and psychiatric stabilization services.

Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department

Provides Immunizations, family planning, well child checks, nutrition assistance to pregnant women and children under five, and HIV/STD testing and treatment. 

Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic

Offers comprehensive services to people with communicative disorders. Services include assessment and speech-language therapy.

Trinity In-Home Care, Inc.

Provides non-medical in-home services for the elderly and those living with disabilities in Douglas County. 

Veterans’ Affairs Office Community-Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC)

Community-based healthcare clinic offering basic health care and mental health counseling to veterans.

Visiting Nurses Association

Provides physician-ordered home visits for homebound and acutely ill patients. Supports end-of-life care with an emphasis on comfort, individual personal care, and housekeeping.
